I just realised that we haven’t done an “official” announcement of this yet, shame on us for being so goshdarned lazy. You may have read this elsewhere, but here’s the facts as they stand with a personalised spin on it…
SISSY HITS: COMING VIA HOLY ROAR IN APRIL/MAY
Our mini album ‘Sissy Hits’ will be released in late April or early May by the fantastic Holy Roar records. After hearing that Jealous were unable to release it, Holy Roar were one of several labels who got in touch and offered to release it. With frankly awesome bands like Rolo Tomassi (I could go on at great length about how much I love this band but I’m trying to keep things succinct in a press release kinda style so I’ll save you the hyperbole), Mirror! Mirror! and Cutting Pink with Knives to name but a few already on their roster we decided that Holy Roar are clearly the coolest and jumped at the chance to put Sissy Hits out through the label. Aside from the uber-limited Japan-only ‘From Grasgow’ ep which came out on Rallye/Klee last year comprising our previous two 7”s, this will be our first proper release that you can put in a CD player and actually listen to, how awesome is that??!!

I checked out the FOOD FOR ANIMALS debut LP Belly after reading their review on Pitchfork today and all i can mostly say is “WOW”. It’s essentially a very slickly produced, messed-up noise album with rapping over it and it makes my brain jump into the sea and drown itself. Lovely stuff.

we had fruit beer, that they dont even consider special, and were were SCREAMING THE PLACE DOWN with JOY!
we’re in holland, so everyone who works in places (shops, restaurants etc.) is stoned out their boxes. and everyone east of france is hotter than the sun. keep this in mind, you must realise that people here take drugs before they even drink properly, this is insane. and it makes you feel really really really great about yourself at first, then incredibly depressed, because you will never be these people and you will never live in such a great, open-minded place. and no matter how much they love you, you have to return to scotland, because thats where your brain is..

David says we should update the blog but I’ve not done anything other than sleep a lot, piss about on Jockrock and watch ‘The Wire’ lately. Tonight I finished season one of the wire and ate most of a jar of nutella with a spoon. Now I’m drinking my umpteenth cup of coffee, smoking my umpteenth roll-up cigaretteand wondering how the hell I’m going to survive financially on this upcoming tour. SATURDAY NIGHT PARTY! Anyone else done anything fun?
